Job Title: Broadband Applications Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Broadband Applications Developer will be responsible for developing cutting edge real-time web based applications and content areas broadband product platform, as well as working on emerging content channels with technology partners. This individual will need to be team focused and highly motivated.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work within project teams to design, implement, and maintain products and applications on weather.com.
Work with outside broadband technology companies to evaluate new technologies and products, and integrate those technologies or products into the weather.com platform.
Work with outside technology companies to develop content channels in new mediums (i.e., RoadRunner, AOL Plus, , etc.)
Design and implement custom web site support applications (i.e. measure application loading and server usage).
Research new technologies and application development tools/platforms.
Coordinate all systems integration and content publishing with WebMaster and Product Development Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
BS in Computer Science or similar field.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within multiple teams.
Minimum of 2 years programming experience.
Minimum of 1 year programming experience in HTML and Javascript.
Minimum of 1 year programming experience in C, C++ or Pro*C.
Minimum of 1 year programming experience developing in a Unix environment.
Experience with designing and implementing on-line content, applications, and/or web sites.
Experience in SQL database access techniques.
Must have familiarity with multiple browser environments and an understanding of compatibility issues.
Experience developing for a Sun/Netscape web server platform.
Experience in PL/SQL, NSAPI, PERL, or DHTML.
Experience building database oriented web site.
Experience using an Oracle backend database from web based applications.
Experience with Oracle Webserver.
Experience with advertisement serving software (NetGravity, DoubleClick, etc.).
Experience developing for an NT web server platform.
Knowledge and understanding of commercial on-line services.
Experience working on a large-scale production web site.
