JOB DESCRIPTION:
The weather.com Sales Manager is responsible for developing all advertising and business opportunities in the assigned geographic territory, through individual client management, as well as through managing a team of Account Managers. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for maintaining and growing existing clients within the territory, while working with the team of Account Managers to exceed individual and team annual goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate customer leads
Schedule and complete client presentations
Develop client solutions and proposals
Manage customer / client relationships through full sales cycle
Manage Account Managers in designated territory
Assist Account Managers with sales calls, and client presentations
Review sales plans / account lists with Account Managers
Recruit Account Managers
Establish goals and objectives for Account Managers
Motivate and train Account Managers
Achieve individual revenue goals for weather.com
Follow pricing policies to maximize revenue
Work with all available sources to identify potential customers
Manage and develop solutions that optimize customer satisfaction
Develop and maintain relations with the largest clients and prospects
Achieve group revenue goals for weather.com through management of Account Managers
Prepare individual weekly revenue reports, including projections of future business
Prepare group weekly revenue reports for Account Manager team
Manage expenses responsibly
Communicate effectively with Marketing Associate
Lead Ad Master efforts to superior customer service
Work with Management to establish territory goals and objectives, and to forecast and budget weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue projections
Interview, hire, and manage individual activities of Account Managers in assigned territory
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
REQUIRED:
Outside Media Sales experience (5 years +)
Internet Ad Sales experience
Experience Managing Sales staff
Full Sales Cycle Experience (from prospecting through account maintenance)
Consultative Sales experience
Proposal writing experience
Bachelor’s degree
Experience developing client proposals/ presentations
Experience identifying and establishing prospect lists
Experience working with internal production team
Experience developing and executing strategic marketing plans
Experience establishing goals and objectives for Sales staff
Experience hiring and managing daily activities of Sales staff
Self-motivated to EXCEED company objectives
Analytical skills to translate customer needs into solutions
Flexible to review own progress and adapt to changing objectives of the market
Articulate communicator

Personal / professional integrity
Ability to travel to client sites with in designated region to make client presentations
Travel away from base office is approximated at 25%
