

Job Title: Sales Planner

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Account Managers in the development of sales proposals:
- Gather and analyze market research
- Prepare appropriate programming and media information
- Prepare written presentation materials
Create sales plans for The Weather Channel (TWC)
Analyze client advertising strategies and tactics
Develop TWC sales strategy
Develop sales proposal in accordance with client specs
Recommend appropriate program sponsorships
Coordinate tagging programs
Uphold TWC pricing, inventory, and packaging policies
Liaison between Sales, Traffic, and external customers for:
- Post analysis
- Audience delivery of schedules
- Traffic and art requirements
Assist Account Managers in prospecting new business:
- Use tools such as Red Book and Alexa.com
- Watch competitive networks for client leads and ideas
- Read relevant trade material for client leads and ideas
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years media experience
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Familiar with Nielsen, MRI, and other research products
Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the Internet
Sales training and experience strongly preferred
