View and create descriptions for the internal archive database (TLMS).
Search the database for assets that Library customers can use to complete production.
Maintain Daily Video Reports files.
Assist with the writing compilation of the monthly newsletter.
Attend and participate in staff and team meeting.
Organize and create stack reels that track original source and time code.
Serve as the producer for filling external requests by searching for appropriate footage, identifying appropriate rights and clearances, secure edit time and oversee edit session, prepare logs and documentation for licenses, and follow through to be sure the footage is delivered.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related subject matter preferred. Bachelor’s degree requirement can be waived for individual demonstrating knowledge and experience necessary to perform the duties of the job.
Experience – One year of experience in communications related employment preferably broadcasting, production, or writing.
Must be able to prioritize tasks in order to meet critical deadlines.
Must be able to evaluate the quality of shots and the condition of footage.
Knowledge of video levels and broadcast quality.
Must be familiar with database software and data entry.
Familiarity with library systems and procedures.
Must understand videotape formats, camera shot terminology, and production.
Sensitivity to copyright issues involved with the Library’s assets.
Ability to write descriptive, clear, and helpful freeform text.
Must have excellent grammar and spelling skills.
Must type with minimum speed of 60 wpm.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Familiar with editing/dubbing equipment for fast turn-around when regular editors are unavailable.
