JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Graphic System Product Coordinator will manage and develop Latin America’s Meteorology Graphic System. This individual will create new meteorological processes and products (graphical and textural in nature) that meet customer requirements, in a wide range of technical platforms, styles, and formats. Priorities and workload will be led by the Latin Meteorology Products Team in conjunction with the Latin America Programming Teams. He or she will be a key cross-functional member on several Latin teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graphic Systems usage, maintenance, and applications troubleshooting for product generation of weather-related graphics and textual information.
Document existing graphic processes and products.
Create new products and enhancements to existing products.
Maintain product migration; data flow information; availability for troubleshooting data flow and consultation in the implementation of new systems or data streams.
Maintain procedures and training for new products and systems development.
Recommend and implement improvements to operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.
Monitor systems to assure compliance with quality standards.
Assists in the coordination of system redundancy, system support, and training of system software, and coordinate product look, communication, etc., between customers and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
An Undergraduate degree in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience with various desktop PC applications, including spreadsheets and graphic packages; expert user of meteorological graphic rendering system(s).
Familiar with use of broadcast graphics and knowledge of weather data formats/communications.
Background in graphic design and development a plus.
Fluent in English and either Spanish or Portuguese.
Excellent communication and team skills (verbal and listening as well as written) with the ability to relate with sensitivity to the unique needs and problems of a 24-hour operations with critical deadlines.
Multi-task oriented with proven ability to properly manage assigned resources.
Experience with GIS technology, PhotoShop, and PaintShop Pro is optimal.
