JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position provides competent and professional support, guidance, direction and execution of projects assigned to the Engineering Department. This position also provides facility documentation, technical support, and inventory management for the Engineering Department. The Broadcast Engineer serves as both leader and consultant on cross-functional teams that are managing large-scale projects requiring Engineering's technical support.
This person will report to the Manager of Engineering Projects and will have no direct reports. This position is also jointly responsible for developing and maintaining Engineering standards and reporting process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Secure customer acceptance and signoff on requirements and specifications
Ensure that the Project Engineering team is pro-active in identifying problems and, if necessary, track them back to supporting systems
Meet with project sponsors/leaders to accomplish the analysis, design and execution of projects
When necessary, facilitate training for customers and users on the final systems and processes
Recommend and implement methods that continuously improve processes and people
Solicit suggestions for better and more efficient ways of managing projects.
Assist managers, as directed, in the identification and development of the operating and capital budgets
Participates in the alignment of team goals with the company's strategic objectives.
Ensure that system and equipment documentation is current. Implements processes to continuously review and improve
Work with Engineering's customers, ensuring that detailed designs provide required functionality
Provides Engineering support through communication and working closely with other departments, teams, peers, and customers
Participates in continuous improvement groups to better the efficiency of the Engineering Department to support Engineering's internal and external customers.
Demonstrate a strong desire to continually increase technical and operational knowledge of all equipment and systems used by TWC and TWC Latin America
Direct, and be responsible for, contractors as needed and requested by Engineering Management
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
Bachelor Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related experience
Familiar with Broadcast Engineering practices
Knowledgeable in the area of Project management processes
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to relate with sensitivity to the unique needs and problems of a 24-hour operation with critical deadlines
Must be able to cope with many active projects simultaneously
Must be a logical thinker able to synthesize and analyze information from multiple sources to develop an understanding of the whole. Must be able to see technical issues in the light of broader company objectives and to set priorities accordingly
Exceptional interpersonal teamwork skills.
