Job Title: System Administrators

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The System Administrators will provide senior level system administration support for Sun Solaris equipment. Although this position does not require shift work, it does require being on-call for a 24x7 operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate Solaris servers and related systems on a daily basis.
Install and configure new equipment.
Install and configure third party software.
Perform OS upgrades and patch installations.
Help establish and maintain Sun high-availability clusters.
Design, implement, and maintain configuration management system.
Perform and monitor backups as required.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
5 – 10 years experience as system administrator.
Working knowledge of Solaris systems.
Demonstrable understanding of RAID and logical volume managers.
Working knowledge of DNS, NIS, NFS, automounter.
Understanding of centralized system administration concepts.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP and physical layer components.
Strong scripting/automation skills (prefer some Perl experience).
Understanding of network management systems and SNMP.
Experience in an NT/Unix environment helpful.
Database experience a plus.
