JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Part-time Mail Room Clerk / Facilities Assistant will be responsible for the general organization and operation of THE WEATHER CHANNEL (TWC) Atlanta mail room(s). This includes processing outgoing mail, pickup of TWC mail from the post office, and distribution of incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments. The Part-time Mail Room Clerk / Facilities Assistant will also maintain mail room, break room, and conference room supplies, perform light handy person work (hanging pictures, whiteboards, etc.) and assist the Facilities Service Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager in coordinating internal moves for employees. The Part-time Mail Room Clerk / Facilities Assistant will interact with all levels of employee throughout the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pick up TWC incoming mail from the post office, sort, and deliver to TWC personnel.
Distribute all daily incoming packages received in TWC mail room(s) to appropriate Department(s).
Sort and distribute all daily incoming newspapers and magazines.
Process all TWC outgoing mail and packages. Consolidate and process all TWC overnight packages to the field offices.
Maintain inventory of all mail room(s), break room(s), and conference room(s) supplies including copier, facsimile and postage machines, overnight delivery services, and regular mail supplies for TWC mail room(s).
Manage TWC recycling process and procedures.
Monitor general condition of equipment in TWC mail room(s). Immediately report needed repairs to Facilities Service Supervisor and post status of down equipment in central location of mail room(s). Perform minor maintenance (replacement of drums, addition of toner or ink, etc.) of copiers, facsimile machines, and mail metering equipment.
Monitor and correct general cleanliness of TWC mail room(s), break room(s), and conference room(s). Notify Facilities Services Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager of conditions requiring special attention.
Participate in company wide mail room surveys to continually monitor the needs of TWC mail room(s) users. Assist in developing strategies and implementing procedures to adapt to these needs.
Set up conference room(s) as needed.
As directed by the Facilities Service Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager, perform light handy person work such as hanging pictures, whiteboards, cork boards, nameplates, shelving.
Implement design of new and existing workstations and office environments by placing/constructing furniture, as plans require.
As directed by the Facilities Service Supervisor and/or Facilities Manager, coordinate all internal moves.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/ Skills/ Education):
Must possess a high school degree or equivalent, with a good math aptitude.
Must be able to use a power drill and hand truck.
Must be able to use a PC and software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must be able to use a calculator and be familiar with bills of lading.
Must possess good communication skills, be able to prioritize and work on several assignments with frequent interruptions, be organized, and be a fast learner.
Must be cooperative, team player with positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the Facilities Department’s role, efficiently make use of time, and effectively handle deadline pressures.
Must have own vehicle and a valid Georgia diver’s license.
Must be able to act professionally in all circumstances.
Must be able to interact with all levels of individual throughout the company.
Must be highly self motivated.
Must be Customer Service oriented.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.
